Getting back to work

January 9, 2011

Well dear readers, those who are not yet back at work here return on 10th January.

Some people often expect to slowly get back into the swing of things after a week or two off and are still in “holiday mode”.

It seems that will not be the case for those who have reached the top of Ukrainian life.  On 10 January,  EU Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighborhood Policy Stefan Fule returns to Ukraine before anyone has had chance to open the post!

The curse of a major partner being on the Gregorian calendar whilst we are on the Julian calendar I suppose.

Mr Fule is due to meet the usual suspects of course, President Viktor Yanukovych, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, Foreign Affairs Minister Kostiant yn Hryschenko, First Deputy Prime Minister Andriy Kliuyev and Chair of the Parliamentary Committee for European Integration Borys Tarasiuk.

He will also meet with representatives of the opposition (currently without needing a prison visitors pass), representatives of civil society, media experts, human rights defenders and members of the business community represented by the European Business Association.

Doesn’t take long to get back to normal does it?
