Well dear readers, after a rather long and sweaty day yesterday……+35, can you believe that?………I did not have the time to put in the usual cursory glance over what is occuring in these here parts.
However……
Odessa City Council Capital Building Dept to be acting as a customer of repair and restoration of 52 city’s buildings.
Odessa City Council Executive Committee issued a Decision for the City Council Capital Building Dept to be acting as a customer of projecting and carrying out the repair and restoration of facades and roofs of the city’s buildings.
The reparatory works will be carried out on 52 buildings, including the ones situated in the historical center of Odessa, i.e.:
- Bunin Street;
- Gogol Street;
- Dvoryanskaya Street;
- Deribasovskaya Street;
- Zhukovskogo Street;
- Yekaterininskaya Street;
- Pushkinskaya Street;
- Rishelievskaya Street;
- Troitskaya Street;
- Sobornaya Square etc.
What do they mean “including” the ones situated in the historicl city centre. Every street they name is in the historical city centre!
I certainly hope they get on with the roofing work rather quickly, as at +35 degrees, putting on a wet cement facade in this temperature is pointless as it dries too quickly, cracks and falls off…….and if the don’t spend the money when the have it…….it will get “lost”.
Still, next year, the city centre should be more beautiful than ever if they get it done as the city centre has some wonderful architecture.
