Well dear readers, for the first time since I have been in the FSU……….a train was late arriving.
Not just one train…….but 50 trains!……….14 passenger trains and 36 cargo trains to be exact.
The delays happened between 2 and 3 January due to the extreme amount of snow……….
Absolutely unheard of in my entire time here……….of course in the UK it is fairly unheared of for 50 trains to arrive on time and you can forget 2 meters of snow covering half the country as an excuse. In the UK it is the result of a leaf which rather rudely sat on a line between Watford and Doncaster which would cause the complete shut down of the network.
Of course in Ukraine, even in the more extreme inclemant weather all was back to normal within 24 hours……..the UK, well……..
Anyway, just so my beloved western readers don’t think Ukraine is completely sh*t…….and my Ukrainian and Russian readers don’t think the west has everything sorted………Ukraine wins the more efficient and timely rail network prize hands down!
