The Circus Officially Begins on 19th October……..

August 26, 2009

Well dear readers, the circus which is the Ukrainian Presidential election officially starts on 19th of October…….

Official presidential election campaign to start on October 19, 2009
This was disclosed by Central Election Commission (CEC) member Mykhailo Okhendovsky. Okhendovsky said that the election would be held in two rounds. He said that the first round would be held on January 17, 2010, while the second one, if needed, would be held on February 7, 2010.

It seems to me it has already started……..Yatseniuk army styled tents all over the bloody place with young people trying to force leaflets on you, Yakanovych, Tymoshenko have both been in the City in the past 10 days and huge bill-board posters of every man/women and their dog who have entered the race covering any available surface.

Of course, there is still a chance that it won’t happen at all…….if the current President Yushenko can find a reason to prolong his place at the top…….constitutionally or unconstitutionally.

The problem with basing a political system on the system of the USA is that it just goes on toooooooooo damn long and people have lost interest or become immune to political engineering by the time the voting comes around.

If you cannot make your political points in a 2 month time frame……..whilst saving an absolute financial fortune doing so in such a time frame…….then starting it now just doesn’t help much anyway.

Most people have already decided who they will vote for…….well, maybe not……..but most have decided who they will not vote for and that’s a fact.

The next President of Ukraine, will not be (on current standings)…….

Viktor Yushenko (current President), Vladimir Lytvyn (current Speaker), Arseniy Yatseniuk (maybe next time but probably time after that), Anatoliy Hrytsenko (ex Defence Minister), Oleh Tyahnybok (Leader of Lviv regional Council), Serhiy Tyhypko (ex CEO of the National Bank), Inna Bohoslovska, Natalia Vitrenko or any other two-bit, never heard of politician which has entered.

From the list above, only one really stands a chance of being a fly in the soup for Tymoshenko or Yanukovych and that is Yatseniuk……but he has a lot going against him which will become more apparent at the election draws closer.

Oh well……now I have introduced all the clowns from the circus dear readers…….you will notice a distinct lack of Ring Master once again amongst them.

More of the same ahead then……..
